Fishes in the aquarium keep doing what
they’re doing --- they swim. They keep on swimming with or without an audience.
They keep on flipping their fins not to impress their viewers. Swimming is
innate. That’s what they do! A gold fish may look cute in a bowl considering
its color and chunky rounded body, but if it doesn’t swim, what else is its
purpose? Viewers will be bored in a blink!
We used to have a huge aquarium filled with different kinds of fishes
--- a couple of parrot fish, power-five hammer head fish, a family of carp fish
and a group of gold and black-rayed fish! Whenever my dad arrives home from a
very exhausting day at work, he would simply sit in front of our 2-meter fish
tank and watch these fascinating species do their thing --- swim, here and
there; back and forth… That would eventually please my dad and give him some
peace. Imagine, those swimmers were not even aware of the pleasure and
relaxation they provide to the sight!
Brothers and sisters, God feels the same way. He is at peace and
pleased when He sees His children doing what they’re doing. When we keep on
loving and serving, God is at peace and pleased.
I’m sure my dad didn’t need to see acrobatic moves from those
charmers! He knows what they do best – they swim! That’s it!
The same way with how God looks at us! We don’t have to make a huge
move to impress Him today! The Lord simply says, “Keep doing what you’re
doing.”
If you are loving right now --- keep on loving! If you are believing
right now --- keep on believing! If you are forgiving right now --- keep on
forgiving! If you are seeking the Lord now --- keep on seeking Him! If you are
sharing right now --- keep on sharing! If you are praying for something right
now --- then keep on praying for it! If you are walking an extra-mile for a
friend --- keep on walking with him hand in hand!
The Lord is saying “keep
doing what you’re doing because that js who you are! That is your innate power
and I have implanted that in your heart. I have created you to keep on loving,
believing, forgiving, and sharing until you do more!”
Few weeks ago, I invited a sister in the community to come with me in
a celebration wherein we’re not first-handedly involved. She was hesitant to
attend the activity simply because she’s not required to do anything there. But
us being leaders, I encouraged her to still go and take part in it because the
truth is --- a person’s presence is enough to inspire and light a whole
gathering! Our presence in every Christian gathering not only signifies support
but love and peace to everyone that we will have an encounter with; believing
that Christ is within us and should be seen in us. We are already
representatives of Christ just by being present! So, attend and be there even
if you will just sit, watch, listen and mingle. Just keep doing what you’re
doing!
