Reflecting on Matthew 13:54-58, this gives us a clear picture of unbelief and the effects it could have on what we receive or do not receive from God, in any circumstances in our life. Unbelief hinders us from receiving what God has already prepared for us.
It was indeed a good start of the year for me this 2013. There is an outpouring of blessings from left to right. As for me, miracles happen no matter how impossible it may seem. But because of God’s great love and being reminded always by this year’s theme which is the” Year of Faith,” all the doubts, fears, and anxieties were all changed to confidence that with God, all things are possible.
If I had allowed the doubts that I could not take a vacation last December, I would not be able to spend Christmas with my family. If I entertained fears and chose to stay in my previous job thinking that it was hard to find a job nowadays, I would not be able to find a better one; the one which I have now. Choosing to believe and having a gift of faith, has opened my doors of blessings God has prepared for me.
Let us not allow unbelief hinder our growth and keep us from moving forward in the things of God, that we may not miss the best opportunity of our life, an opportunity to be blessed by the hands of God by way of a personal touch, and the opportunity of being made whole.
God our Father, You conquer the darkness of ignorance by the light of Your Word. Strengthen within our hearts the faith You have given us. Amen.
