Living in another country was not my cup of tea. Imagining
that I will be far from my loved ones was foolish and unacceptable. I grew up
as a spoiled daughter. Everything was comfortable. We had maids and my mom did
everything for me and even exempted me from doing chores. I had a blossoming
management career with the bank I was working with. Most important I have my
love of my life, RS, beside me.
Sabido Family
In 2006, he decided to try his luck in Dubai where I
allowed myself to think that a long distance relationship CAN WORK. The first
months were manageable, but it slowly became difficult when both of us had to
juggle different roles and responsibilities. At some point, our relationship
was like that of a roller coaster, where we either had too much love or too
much hate due to the lack of communication. But with God's grace, we got finally
married in 2007. I gave up the life that I was comfortable with and shifted to
Dubai with be him. I prayed and asked for God's guidance, and with the help of
RS, everything was prepared for me which helped me adjust easily. Finally, in August
2008 I came to Dubai, and true to His words, it was not difficult for me to and
to be comfortable in my new environment. He nurtured me with the many blessings
and trials that enabled me to be stronger as a person. The CFC community has
been my second family here and I have come to develop a network of friends that
I love and appreciate.
Leggy and Andre
Living in Dubai is tough but as I look back to the life I
had in the Philippines, I realized that I have been transformed to a better
individual, equipped with positivity and more trusting of the Lord's plans for
me. Furthermore, I have embraced a new role, that of being a mother to my two-year-old
son, Andre. Having RS and Andre by side is priceless. I can now say that moving
to Dubai is a blessing for me that I will always cherish.
